This was the question a student of mine asked me a few days ago. I have only set up a blog for him a couple of days before, and admiringly, he had started posting articles to it as I advised. But it didn’t seem like anybody was reading his posts as he couldn’t see any money showing in his Adsense account.

Naturally he was worried and not sure whether he wasn’t wasting his time; whether all the talk about making money from blogging was really true.

I’m sure many other new bloggers are in this state of mind. People generally associate money making opportunities online with get rich quick schemes. They think once they set up a blog or website, then the money will start pouring into their account in the next minute. Frankly, I believe this wrong mindset is being created by fraudulent Internet marketers who are desperately looking for unsuspecting victims to knock off money from.

Sincerely my friend, there is work to be done to make money from blogging. And to answer the above question, which inquired if it is actually possible to make money from blogging, I say emphatically, yes you can make money, in fact, great money online, from your blog.

People have, and are still making tens of thousands of dollars monthly from their blogs, and the opportunity to make even much more unfolds daily. However, to be part of the money making group, you will definitely have to know how it works and to understand the industry.

And that means you will need to learn as much as you can from both free and paid for materials, and it will be greatly rewarding to have a coach to guide you through.

You will need to treat your blogging activity as a business, and so have a business plan and budget for growing it.

If you research and set up a blog in a profitable and less competitive niche, optimize it for search engines, gradually and regularly develop it with good articles, which are also optimized for search engines, build readership, and capture your visitors email addresses, then it is absolutely certain that you will be making good money consistently with it.

However, this takes time, patience and persistent. If you can exercise these, then be rest assured your blogging activity will be rewarding.

As a matter of fact, you can even sell off your blog after some time of building it if you want to. The more you build your blog the more valuable it becomes, and the more money you can sell it for. Depending on the topic of the blog and how well you have developed it, you can sell it for thousands of dollars.

Some people’s business plan is actually to set up blogs, build them up for a number of months and sell them off for tons of money, then move on to building another sets. If this business model is cool with you, why not, you can adopt it too – what really matters here is that you are making cool cash.

Again, I assure you, you can make lots of money from blogging if you learn how, and then implement the knowledge consistently and persistently, making necessary changes from time to time as need be.
